System for the cinematic analysis of cervical spine movements.

Cervical pain is one of the most common causes for sick leave. Until now neither procedures nor measurement tools existed that could assess objectively the health level of those patients in the functional point of view. Therefore, it is difficult to design adequate treatments to each patient and this reduces treatment effectiveness and recovery.

Because of this, Asepeyo M.A.T.E.P.S.S Nº 151 and IBV developed NedCervical/IBV, a functional evaluation system based in cinematic information of the cervical spine movement. The system provides objective information and helps in the diagnosis of neck injuries associated to chronical pains.

The developed software enables the functional assessment of the cervical movement to patients with pain in the cervical spine, and provides the user with the following information in the clinical report:
      • Evolutional control of the patients
      • Effectiveness of the treatments
      • Development of research areas orientated to rehabilitation and functional assessment
NedCervical/IBV gives practitioners the opportunity to design the most effective rehabilitation exercises program and to control objectively the condition and evolution of the patient during the rehabilitation treatment.

We would like to thank Asepeyo M.A.P.T.E.S.S Nº 151 and all volunteers/patients who made this project possible.
