MEDICA is one of the main fair meetings in the world about healthcare business that will take place between November 12 and 15, 2018 in Dusseldorf.
Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) will have a prominent presence in MEDICA trade fair (Hall 11 / J05), which will be held from 12 to 15 November in Düsseldorf. In this fair will be presented internationally FallSkip, a biomechanical application, which allows clinicians to evaluate older adults´ fall risk, attributed to their functional state. The system uses an Inertial Measurement Unit integrated in an Android device, which analyses the biomechanical response when performing a modified protocol of the Timed up and Go Test (TGU).
On the other hand, WAAS/IBV will also be presented in MEDICA, a system that provides information on the functional status of the person assessed through two parameters: Mobility and speed. This is contrasted and objective information, which supports the diagnosis of neck pains associated with traffic accidents, such as the whiplash syndrome. WAAS/IBV is an agile, simple and cost-effective biomechanical evaluation system for the evaluation of whiplash syndrome due to traffic accidents, based on scientifically validated methodologies
IBV is an institution of international prestige in biomechanics that has been working in this field for over 40 years, so in addition to FallSkip and WAAS / IBV, throughout the week the IBV will present the rest of its wide range of technological solutions in the field of biomechanical valuation.
