Activities in the field of Rehabilitation and Personal Autonomy of Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) aim to improve the wellbeing of people with functional limitations and increase the competitiveness of companies in the sector through the development of more effective rehabilitation treatments and innovative and more suitable technical aids.

IBV is a strategic partner for companies seeking the expertise and the necessary assistance during the process of certification of its medical devices.

We offer product testing through laboratory tests that analyse usability, efficiency, ergonomics, mechanical behaviour and safety of these products. Test procedures follow international standards and we also offer customised testing that allow proper assessment of the products. IBV also provides advisory services to identify the causes of failure of the products during the tests in order to provide the best solutions for potential redesigns.
In addition, IBV provides support in all phases of the entire product development cycle (conceptual design, risk assessment, detailed design and prototype manufacturing) that enable the companies to produce products that can obtain the CE marking according to directives of medical devices (Directive 93/42 / EEC as amended by Directive 2007/47 / EC).
